Louise Chisson

About your teacher

Born in Bordeaux, Louise Chisson started the violin at the age of three with Robert Papavrami. She was noticed at eight by Isaac Stern, and at seventeen she entered the class of Dora Schwarzberg at the University of Music and Performing Arts in Vienna, where she received her Master’s degree.

A first-prize winner of international competitions, she has performed with orchestras including the Lithuanian National Symphony Orchestra, the Prague Philharmonic Orchestra, the Salzburg Chamber Soloists and the Deutsche Kammerakademie — in the classical and romantic repertoire as in modern and contemporary music. She has also performed all 24 Paganini Caprices on stage.

Louise teaches at the Franz Schubert Konservatorium in Vienna. With pianist Tamara Atschba she founded the Esperus Art Fund; their album “20th Century Feminine” received the Diapason d’Or and a Grammy nomination.
